Environment

We aim to work in an environmentally responsible way that is compliant with international best-practice standards, host government legislation and internal policy.

Environment

We commit to reducing our environmental impact by increasing biodiversity in the areas where we operate, and taking action to improve resource efficiency, and to reduce waste generation and energy and emissions intensity.

We recognise the significant impact that climate change can have on our business and the communities in which we operate and that it is an emerging issue for us as a business.

We will proactively identify, assess, and manage climate-related risks and opportunities to build and maintain resilience in our business and surrounding communities over time.

Watch: environment programs

Biodiversity and
Conservation Program

Collaboration to conserve.

In collaboration with specialists and experts Base Resources implements programs aimed at rehabilitating impacted areas, improving local biodiversity and promoting conservation and sustainability.

Rare and Endangered
Flora Propagation

Protecting species for future generations.

Indigenous nurseries have been established across both operations to propagate endemic native tree species and ensure that utilised land is restored to its original form.

Environmental Monitoring

Using baseline data to mitigate impacts.

We actively monitor groundwater levels, surface and groundwater quality, air quality, noise, radiation and ecological indicators. The ongoing collection of data enables appropriate mitigating measures to be designed and implemented.
